History

Founded by Susan E. Jones in 1986, Susan Matlack Jones & Associates LLC has now officially existed almost two decades longer than the popular American television show Matlock (1986 – 1992), although escaping the inevitable assumption that Matlack = Matlock is still out of our reach. So if Susan E. Jones is just Susan E. Jones, and Matlack ≠ Matlock, then who is Matlack?

Matlack is Susan's maiden name, and she added the title to her company in honor of her father, Jack Matlack, who was prominent in the Portland advertising community for many years, and who, as Executive Director of the Portland Advertising Federation, got Susan into non-profit bookkeeping.

Today, Susan Matlack Jones & Associates has nine employees and is located in the historic Old Town Chinatown neighborhood of Portland.
